The food was phenomenal and the list of Turkish cocktails were fantastic. The flavour profiles and creative manner each dish was put together was so clever and beautiful too. It was a wonderful dining experience. I probably had the best dessert ever with their chicken milk pudding. So good!

Absolutely outstanding food and service Loved it

My partner and I enjoyed the meal at The Local Taphouse, I had the Mussels which were well cooked in a tasty broth and my partner was pleased with her Chicken Parma.The service was friendly and excellent. The establishment fits in perfectly with the area and would recomend it for a friendly, reasonably priced place to eat.

Wonderful restaurant, excellent food, service and ambience.  Accommodated me with dietary requirements (gluten free).  Food was so tasty and creative.  Definitely will be visiting again.

We decided to go to Tulum because it had good reviews. Neither my friend nor I knew much about Turkish food, so we went with the waitress&#39; recommendations. Nothing that came out was as we expected. Our palates are used to Chinese food, and I think maybe it takes a bit of adjusting to get used to Turkish food. The tiny tiny little dumplings look like a lot of work to make. The service was absolutely fantastic and the place looked great. We got the impression that some of the mains were quite large. Off that advice, we ordered the lamb shoulder (first thing in the mains section). It turned out to be quite small (we thought). But the lamb shoulder was the one thing we liked. I wonder if the restaurant would consider providing photos of their dishes in their menu.

Great Anatolian food! Truffle borek was to die for, and so was meatless tartar. The service was excellent. Will definitely return.

Delicious and mouthwatering creative dishes - modern Turkish with a twist, they&rsquo;re always changing up the menu but with the consistent  heart and warmth that soothes the soul and the stomach. We particularly enjoyed the Balik (Barramundi main dish) and the vibe &amp; service was excellent too - very attentive and gave great suggestions.

Food never disappoints and I am yes take advantage of the 50% off . I&rsquo;d travel there just for their date butter , bread and my fav cocktail. Amazing .. can&rsquo;t wait to go back again when another offer comes up.

I am not sure why this restaurant is not higher up in the ratings; it may have something to do with it being listed under St.Kilda when its actually in Balaclava. Even so it should be much higher up the list given the quality and consistency of the food and service. The dishes are small but they are not overpriced, and the delicate flavours in many of them make them worth savouring. We have had many shared dishes here (the best way to order) and all are consistently good, the seafood dishes being the favourites. The chef here takes care in presentation and consistency of quality. And the staff are always friendly and courteous. The interior is comfortable, though the tables are a little close to each other. There are very few good places to eat in Balaclava, but I highly recommend En Izakaya for its relaxed understated atmosphere, excellent service and fine Japanese fusion food. A wonderful asset for Balaclava.
